About this gallery:When creating an online gallery, one is faced with a number of problems. Beside the technical problems, design and how to view the images (should you click to open each one?) the main problem is sorting the images. Should I sort them by content or by film or by what? When shooting digital, it's easy to just select X images from a given event or session, and place them into conveniently named folder. But what to do when it comes to film? There are times when whole film is filled with one girl, one event but most of the times it's just plain mess. Two frames on a film can be separated by a second, day, week or even month. Now, how should I short them? I could sort all the images by date (which is not easy since I don’t have a databack on any of my film cameras). I choose to sort them by film. I consider one roll as a main logical unit and from the sorting there comes the naming. How can I in few words describe and name such a mess? I name my unnameable folders by the camera, film number, film type and sometimes I add an keyword. Probably because I can't think of anything better. So enjoy this mess. |
